The Fast of Ninevah (Jonah's Fast)

Jonah’s story teaches us to listen to God and trust him with what he asks of us because God will never leave us to walk alone on our journey. The story of Jonah talks about how God asked Jonah to go to preach and warn people about the destruction of Nineveh. However, Jonah disobeyed God by refusing.

He tried to escape from this mission by boarding a ship, but God sent a great storm which reminded Jonah that he disobeyed God. Jonah got swallowed up by a whale and in those 3 days Jonah became closer to God, earnestly praying to God for His mercy and Grace. God is so almighty and merciful, he helped Jonah in the whale and didn’t leave him regardless of Jonah leaving him.

In the end Jonah survived and went to Nineveh to continue his mission as God had wanted him to, but came out with a much stronger relationship with God!
